Latch & Hookbolt

The ASEC AS12141 G2000 Copy Gearbox is a 35mm latch and hookbolt repair case with twin followers. The hook-above-latch layout is an identification feature, not by itself proof of compatibility.

Compare the donor reference, follower arrangement, case fixings and strip connections as well as backset and centres. This is a gearbox-only component, not a complete multipoint mechanism, and a serviceable matching strip is required.

ASEC describes a reversible latch and lever-operated locking. Use its supplied instructions and the correct furniture. Two follower positions do not automatically create split-spindle operation, outside key-only access or an escape function. Finish colour alone is not evidence that two cases are interchangeable.

FAQs

ASEC identifies AS12141 as its G2000-copy repair case. Confirm the exact donor reference, fixings and strip connections before treating it as a direct replacement; the G2000 name and hook layout alone are not sufficient.

ASEC describes the latch as reversible. Follow the supplied AS12141 instructions and confirm the required orientation and complete lock handing before fitting.

The case has 92mm and 62mm follower centres. Match the correct furniture and spindles; twin followers do not automatically create split-spindle operation or prevent outside entry when the door is only latched.

Check the 35mm backset, 92mm/62mm centres, donor case reference, hook-above-latch layout, case fixings and drive connections. ASEC lists a 195mm case height and 50mm case width, but these do not replace an exact donor comparison.
