The Avocet Affinity Bastion combines a central latch and deadbolt with four opposing hooks. Avocet's Affinity literature describes the range for timber and composite doors and for lever/lever and lever/pad applications.

The listed configurations are DLBAS35T with a 35mm backset and DLBAS45T-A with a 45mm backset. They must be matched to the existing lock, handle arrangement and keeps; the brand name or backset alone does not establish a direct replacement.

The older Affinity drawing names DLBAS35T and the unsuffixed DLBAS45T. It is not a confirmed fitting drawing for DLBAS45T-A. Check the complete strip layout, centre-case preparation, fixing positions and handed keeps before replacement. Handle and spindle selection also needs to match the required outside-entry function.

Avocet describes the Affinity range for timber and composite doors. That describes its intended application, not a fit guarantee for every door of those materials. Match the exact lock version, complete strip layout, centre-case preparation, handles and keeps to the existing installation.

The mechanism has four hooks arranged in opposing directions, in addition to the central latch and deadbolt. They engage with the matching hook keeps. The performance of the complete door also depends on its frame, keeps, fixings and installation; the hook count alone is not a door security rating.

Avocet's Affinity literature describes lever/lever and lever/pad applications. The required handles and spindle arrangement must be matched to the exact lock version. A twin-spindle description alone does not guarantee that the door will require a key for outside entry.

Avocet's older Affinity literature describes a sprung-loaded reversible latch. Before changing the handing, confirm the procedure for the exact lock version and select the correct handed keeps. The old unsuffixed DLBAS45T drawing is not a confirmed reversal instruction for DLBAS45T-A.
