The Chameleon Adaptable Retrofit Multipoint Lock is a versatile repair solution designed specifically for timber doors. This three-part modular system is engineered to replace existing failed or obsolete locks, providing a flexible alternative to dedicated replacements that may no longer be manufactured.
The central unit is complemented by two hook locking point extensions. These extensions are designed to be croppable, allowing installers to accurately trim the rails to match the specific height of the door on-site. This makes it an ideal choice for maintenance and repair applications where door dimensions vary significantly.
Featuring a 20mm faceplate suited for wooden door preparations, the lock utilises a latch and deadbolt central gearbox. The dual hook points provide enhanced security by pulling the door tightly into the frame, improving both resistance to forced entry and the thermal efficiency of the door seal. This kit is supplied complete with the necessary keeps, ensuring a fully compatible system for a complete installation or upgrade.
Version-specific operation: the manufacturer lists CH10585 (45mm) for lift-lever or split-spindle operation and CH30001 (55mm) for lift-lever operation. Both timber versions use a 20mm faceplate. The 16mm hook/roller and mushroom/roller extension sets are not automatically suitable timber replacements.
Compare the original backset, 92mm centres, faceplate/profile, locking-point positions and replacement keeps before fitting. Croppable extensions are not a guarantee of interchangeability with an unrelated centre case or the original frame keeps.
