The Chameleon 'Get Out Of Jail' UPVC Door Repair Kit is a versatile, all-in-one solution designed to facilitate the repair or replacement of a wide variety of multipoint locking systems. It is specifically engineered to assist engineers and maintenance professionals in situations where the original lock is discontinued or unknown, providing a range of modular components to rebuild a functional locking mechanism.
The kit features three distinct centre cases. These allow for compatibility with 25mm, 30mm, and 35mm backsets, with the 25mm unit featuring a reversible faceplate to accommodate 28mm requirements. To ensure compatibility with various frame preparations, the kit includes two types of locking point extension sets: one featuring hook and roller combinations, and another with mushroom and roller bolts.
For the external hardware, the kit provides two sets of adjustable handles. These handles are designed with a sliding mechanism that accommodates inline and offset centres between 59mm and 96mm, as well as variable screw centres from 122mm to 242mm. Typical applications include domestic UPVC door repairs, emergency lock replacements, and refurbishing older doors where exact spare parts are no longer available.
Separately supplied parts: the manufacturer lists the offset/half-spindle set CH10323 and repair screws CH18619/CH18620 separately. The included 122mm fixing conversion kit is for the matching Chameleon Pro furniture; adjustable PZ does not establish that an unrelated lock, door thickness or fixing pattern will fit. The existing CH30046/CH30047 extension sets are useful replenishment parts, not extra requirements for the initial complete kit.
Compare the original backset, 92mm centres, faceplate/profile, locking-point positions and replacement keeps before fitting. Croppable extensions are not a guarantee of interchangeability with an unrelated centre case or the original frame keeps.
