When ordering multiple Keyed Alike locks, only 1 set of keys are provided as all additional locks are made to work from that key.

If ordering 4 or more keyed alike locks you can have them set up as different groups. If Required: Let us know the details in the "Specific Key Requirements" field above.

Choose the cabinet use before setting the mode

The original KL1000 is cabinet and locker hardware, not a full-size door-entry lock. Private-use and public-use arrangements suit different ways of sharing storage. Match the cam, cabinet thickness and orientation to the furniture, and follow the instructions for the original KL1000 rather than later G3 or NetCode versions.

Fitting and setup

  • Check the cabinet thickness, cam shape and orientation against the original KL1000 instructions.
  • Decide whether the locker belongs to one regular user or successive temporary users before programming the operating mode.

Yes, the KL1000 is designed as a direct replacement for many traditional manual cam locks. It can be easily retrofitted to lockers, cabinets, and cupboards, providing an immediate electronic upgrade without the need for complex wiring.

The KL1000 offers two primary operating modes:

  • Private Function: This is for personal use where a single code is used repeatedly by one person.
  • Public Function: This is ideal for shared lockers where a user enters a temporary code to lock the unit, which then resets once opened for the next user.

The lock is powered by two AAA batteries which provide approximately 15,000 openings. If the batteries fail while the unit is locked, you can hold a 9V battery against the external contact points to provide emergency power and enter your master code to gain access.

The KL1000 supports multiple levels of access to ensure flexible management. You can program one Master Code for administrative control, one Sub-Master Code, one Technician Code, and one User Code for daily operation.
