The ERA 6735 / 9735 Lever Operated Multipoint Lock is a versatile locking solution specifically engineered to replace the majority of multipoint locks currently used in the UK market. The manufacturer specifies this 16mm-faceplate hook/roller kit for PVCu door preparations.
The mechanism consists of a central gearbox with a latch and deadbolt, combined with two high-security hooks and two adjustable rollers. The hooks are designed to provide significant anti-jemmy and anti-separation resistance, while the rollers are used to enhance the weather seal by pulling the door tightly into the frame. Because the top and bottom extensions can be cropped to size, the system can be adjusted to meet the specific height requirements of various door sets.
Technical features include a non-handed design with a reversible sash bolt and snib facility as standard. The lock also supports split spindle operation, making it compatible with both lever/lever and lever/pad handle sets. It is designed to fit a conventional 16mm wide Euro groove, subject to matching the existing door and frame preparation.
Gearbox versions: 6735-2H2R-KIT is the Euro-cylinder version; 9735-2H2R-KIT is the Vectis Plus lever-key version. Vectis is not a Euro-cylinder lock. Use furniture matching the selected gearbox: ERA specifies standard 92mm unsprung handles for the Euro version or the appropriate Vectis Plus adaptor/handle. Compare the actual keyway and handle preparation rather than assuming one set fits both.
Fitting range: this 35mm-backset, 16mm-faceplate range has croppable extensions, with nominal overall length adjustable from 1075mm to 1987mm. The manufacturer lists upper hook reach of 360-816mm and lower hook reach of 415-871mm; use the datum and adjustment limits in the stored drawing. Cropping does not establish compatibility with every door; compare the centre case, existing apertures, locking-point positions and frame keeps before installation.
Supplied keeps: the manufacturer specifies adjustable keep plates and universal packers for the PVCu versions and a non-handed keep set for the timber/composite version. The fitting instructions require checking and fitting the replacement keeps, not assuming the original keeps can be retained.
PAS 24 performance concerns a compliant complete doorset with the specified components, not a stand-alone guarantee for a replacement lock fitted to an unrelated door.
