Latch & Deadbolt

The FUHR 855 Type 1 Key Operated Latch & Deadbolt 4 Roller Lock is a key-operated multisafe 855 lock with four rollers, a central latch and a separately secured deadbolt. Available in 30/35/45mm backsets.

Operation: two full turns of the cylinder key drive the locking and unlocking mechanism. The key retracts the latch from outside; the inside lever can retract the latch after unlocking. Lifting a handle is not the locking action, and ordinary 855 operation is not a panic escape function.

Replacement fit: compare the exact supplied reference, backset, PZ centres, faceplate, case routing, locking-point positions and matching frame keeps. A shared brand or PZ measurement is not a direct-replacement guarantee. The stored manual explains operation and installation precautions; it is not an exact-part dimensioned drawing.

Yes, the FUHR 855 Type 1 features a fully reversible latch bolt. This allow it to be easily adjusted to suit both left and right-handed door openings during installation.

The four roller cams provide multiple points of engagement along the door edge. They offer two main benefits:

  • Improved weather sealing by pulling the door tightly against the frame to reduce drafts.
