Latch & Deadbolt

The Fuhr 855 Type 2 Key Wind Multipoint Lock is a key-operated multisafe 855 lock with two mushrooms and two rollers, a central latch and a separately secured deadbolt. Available with a 35mm backset.

Operation: two full turns of the cylinder key drive the locking and unlocking mechanism. The key retracts the latch from outside; the inside lever can retract the latch after unlocking. Lifting a handle is not the locking action, and ordinary 855 operation is not a panic escape function.

Replacement fit: compare the exact supplied reference, backset, PZ centres, faceplate, case routing, locking-point positions and matching frame keeps. A shared brand or PZ measurement is not a direct-replacement guarantee. The stored manual explains operation and installation precautions; it is not an exact-part dimensioned drawing.

Rotating the key in the Euro profile cylinder directly drives the locking points into place. This design is specifically intended for doors with a fixed external pull pad where handle-lifting is not an option.

This lock provides a total of six security points to ensure a tight, secure seal:

  • Two mushroom cams that hook into the door keeps to provide enhanced resistance against forced entry.

The mechanism requires two full turns of the key to completely engage all the multi-point locking cams and the central deadbolt. This ensures the door is fully locked and the compression points are properly seated in their keeps.
