Latch & Deadbolt

The Lockmaster Single Spindle Latch & Deadbolt Gearbox is listed under L18758 for 35mm backset and L18759 for 45mm backset. It is a repair centre case rather than a complete locking strip.

Match the case reference, follower arrangement, fixing points, drive connections and latch/deadbolt layout. Backset and 92mm centres do not establish fit to all Lockmaster locks or to most handle sets.

Gearbox-only repair depends on the remaining strip and locking points being serviceable. Confirm latch handing using the supplied case instructions and check the complete furniture arrangement. Follow the operating instructions for that mechanism rather than assuming a fixed cylinder rotation or converting from a twin-follower or keywind case.

35mm and 45mm versions are listed. Match the existing backset and also compare the case reference, 92mm centres, follower, fixings and drive connections. A shared backset or case width alone does not approve a replacement.

The latch is listed as reversible. Confirm the supplied case reference and follow its latch-handing instructions; check the whole mechanism and furniture rather than assuming universal handing.

This is the single-follower, lever-operated repair family. Follow the operating instructions for the matched complete lock and furniture, including cylinder locking and unlocking. Do not assume the same key rotation as a different centre case.

A gearbox-only repair may be suitable when this exact case matches and the strip, connections and other locking points are serviceable. Diagnose the full mechanism first; changing a gearbox does not correct damaged linkage or door misalignment.
