The Lowe & Fletcher 5861 is a dedicated plunger-style lock designed for securing wooden sliding doors on furniture. This lock is primarily used in commercial and domestic environments, including office cabinets, retail display units and fitted wardrobes. It functions by mounting the main body to the rear of the door leaf, allowing the cylinder nozzle to pass through a pre-drilled hole in the door face.
The locking action is achieved by pressing the cylinder inward, which extends a bolt into the second door or the surrounding frame to prevent sliding movement. This press-to-lock functionality provides a convenient method of securing furniture without requiring a key for the locking phase. A key is required only to release the bolt and unlock the unit.
Suitable for both new furniture manufacture and as a standard replacement part for existing L&F installations, it provides a reliable mechanical solution for timber cabinetry. The lock is secured via rear screw fixings, ensuring a flush and professional finish from the exterior.

This lock uses a press-in bolt movement. To secure your furniture, simply press the cylinder in; the bolt then extends into the second sliding door or the frame to prevent the first door from moving. It is unlocked using one of the two provided keys.
The lock has a nozzle diameter of 22mm. To install, you will need to drill a 22mm diameter hole through the face of your wooden door so the cylinder can pass through from the back.
No, this model is specifically designed for sliding wooden furniture doors. It mounts to the back of the wooden door with screws and is intended for timber applications rather than glass.
The backplate of the L & F 5861 lock measures 51mm by 24mm. It features two screw fixing points at the rear of the lock for secure attachment to the door. Please note that fixing screws are not included.
