Designed for ease of use and installation, the 1438 includes a reversible latchbolt. Handing can be quickly adjusted by pushing the latch hold cam located on the side of the lockcase with a flat-head screwdriver, allowing for both left and right-hand applications. The lock operates via a standard sashlock mechanism: the deadbolt is thrown by a Euro profile cylinder, while the latch is retracted by either the handle lever or the cylinder key.
