The Yale Doormaster Professional is a high-security multipoint lock engineered specifically for the replacement of existing mechanisms in UPVC doors. This lever-operated system features a central latch and hookbolt, supported by two adjustable hooks and two rollers. The hooks provide substantial resistance against forced entry, while the rollers ensure the door maintains an effective weather seal when closed.
This lock is designed as a versatile maintenance solution. It features a 16mm wide faceplate that is croppable, allowing it to be trimmed to the specific height required for the door. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for replacing obsolete or failed locking units where an exact like-for-like replacement may no longer be available.
Typical applications include domestic residential doors requiring a security upgrade. It is Secured by Design approved and capable of meeting PAS 24 standards as part of a compliant door set. The split spindle operation allows for the lock to be configured for different handle types, providing adaptability for various user requirements.
Replacement measurements: the manufacturer lists upper reach of 385-820mm and lower reach of 408-845mm for the Professional range. Use the datum positions in the stored diagram, rather than treating these as overall faceplate lengths. Match the original backset, 92mm centres, faceplate width/profile and the door preparation before cropping and mating the sections.
This PVCu family has 35mm and 45mm backset options with a 16mm faceplate. The manufacturer specifies three separate keeps with the Uni-Packer system for the PVCu Professional models. It is not the one-piece Universal keep. The two remote hooks are additional to the central hook.
