The Yale YS170 is a comprehensive multipoint locking system engineered for high-security applications on UPVC doors. This unit combines a central latch and hookbolt with multiple locking points across the length of the faceplate to provide superior protection against forced entry.

This locking mechanism features two reverse-action hookbolts, which are specifically designed to grip the keep and prevent the door from being lifted out of the frame. To complement the security features, four adjustable roller cams are distributed along the strip to pull the door tightly against the frame gaskets, ensuring an effective weatherproof seal and reducing draughts.

Functionally, the YS170 utilises a split spindle arrangement, making it suitable for various handle configurations, including offset lever-pad setups where external access is restricted to key entry. An integrated snib function allows the latch to be held in a retracted position for convenience or deadlocked for additional security. It is frequently specified as a high-performance replacement for existing Yale systems or as a primary lock in new door installations.
