  • V442 is listed for handles up to 23 mm wide and 10 mm thick; V448 up to 43 mm wide and 24 mm thick.
  • Their padlock limits differ: 7 mm on V442 and 8 mm on V448.
  • Check lever/body geometry, surrounding pipework and locking clearance against the exact fitting instructions.

Not on its own. The lockout must fit the actual handle, handwheel or connection and have room to close correctly. Use the exact model's specified fitting dimensions.

No. ABUS lists a 7 mm shackle limit for V442 and 8 mm for V448.

The device must seat around the valve lever and prevent its intended movement; pipe diameter alone does not describe that fit.

  • V423 is listed for a handle up to 37 mm wide and 7 mm thick; V426 up to 50 mm wide and 10 mm thick.
  • Check the valve body and nearby pipework as well as those handle limits.
  • Check the chosen padlock and the manufacturer's fitting arrangement; several adjustment holes do not prove several people can lock the device at once.
