Ball-valve levers, gate-valve handwheels and gas-cylinder connections need different lockout arrangements. Identify the valve type and measure the part the device must fit—not just the pipe size.
Measure the whole fitting.
Ball-valve levers
Compare handle width and thickness, the valve body and the space needed to seat and lock the device. Steel V423/V426 and polypropylene V442/V448 have different fitting limits.
Gate-valve handwheels
Check wheel diameter, depth and surrounding pipework. The V303–V313 range has five cover sizes; the rising-stem break-out applies to V305–V313, not V303.
Gas-cylinder connections
P606 is a separate cover design. Check the complete valve and connection shape rather than assuming a handwheel or ball-valve device will substitute.
