Cable lockouts can suit arrangements where a rigid device is difficult to position. Compare cable material and length, the securing mechanism and the padlocks required by your procedure.
Standard or Safelex?
The C503–C515 Safelex steel-cable range allows slack to be taken up while locked. C553–C565 is the standard steel-cable range; do not assume it offers the same retightening feature. Both ranges cover 1, 2, 3 and 5 metre articles.
C523 is the separately listed 1 metre nylon-cable Safelex device. Cable material is an application decision: a coating on a metal cable does not make that cable electrically non-conductive.
Check routing, the equipment's locking points, available cable length and padlock-body clearance together. A long cable is not proof that a particular multi-point arrangement is suitable.
