The external lever retracts the latchbolt upon the entry of a correct code, while the internal lever provides a permanent safety function; even when the deadbolt is projected, the internal handle will retract both the deadbolt and the latchbolt for immediate exit. Maintenance is simplified through a quick code change feature, which allows the user to update access codes directly on the door without needing to disassemble the lock unit.
