Key Configuration
Shipping From:
When ordering multiple Keyed Alike locks, only 1 set of keys are provided as all additional locks are made to work from that key.
If ordering 4 or more keyed alike locks you can have them set up as different groups. If Required: Let us know the details in the "Specific Key Requirements" field above.
Each group of locks will then receive keys.
The Ingersoll SC71 is a high-security rim deadbolt designed specifically for use on outward opening timber doors. This specialized configuration ensures that the lock and its strike plate are correctly aligned for doors that swing away from the interior, providing a robust security solution for non-standard entryways.
Functionally, the unit features an automatic deadlocking mechanism, where the bolt is thrown as soon as the door is closed. This eliminates the risk of leaving the property unsecured. From the outside, the lock is operated by a key through a high-integrity 10-lever cylinder. A unique security feature allows the internal handle to be locked by an extra turn of the key from the outside, preventing unauthorised exit or manipulation through adjacent glazing.
Internally, the lock is operated via a pull lever. For convenience during high-traffic periods, a turn snib on the side of the case can be used to hold the bolt back. This product is typically used as a primary security lock on residential or light commercial doors and is supplied with a strike plate specifically engineered for outward opening frames.

No unfortunately not, the BS3621 nightlatches can not be reversed. The only way to do this is to install a standard nightlatch from our outward opening nightlatch section and then also install a BS3621 deadlock. This deadlock will give you the insurance rating required.
You need to make sure the lock you fit is NON deadlocking. This means that you can not lock people into the property. There are a few nightlatches designed for these doors. The best is the Yale PBS3 or PBS4 or a more standard model would be the Yale 88 or 84.
The best locks for these would be the a rollerbolt style lock with a masterkeyed cylinder. I would not recommend installing a standard Nightlatch on these doors as the tenants can lock themselves out if they close the door behind them. We can supply these locks for you on a masterkey if you require or keyed differ if you would prefer.
The backset on these locks is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the Rim Cylinder. This is the large 32mm hole drilled through the door. There are 2 main sizes of these, 60mm or 40mm. Easiest way to find out what you have is to measure from outside of the door from the edge to the center of the keyhole. If you have a solid door you should use the 60mm backset locks, if you have a glass panelled door then you may need to use the 40mm backset. If your current lock is 50mm backset you will need to see our Union locks as only Union made a 50mm backset lock in the past.
There are different levels of security you can have with all locks. The standard locks (i.e. Yale 77, Yale 88) , then the mid level locks which can be key deadlocked from outside ( Yale 89, Union nightlatches). The double locking versions are only suitable for homes with other means of exit as you can lock people inside the house if not careful.
All the extra keys for the locks are cut to the specific locks that have been ordered.
With most locks that are altered to make them keyed alike you will only get 1 x set of keys with them. So if the locks normally come with 2 you will only get 2 keys total and if they come with 3 keys you will only get 3 x keys total when ordered keyed alike.
Yes, this specific model is a reversed night latch designed specifically for outward opening doors. It includes the specialized striking plate required for this type of installation.
Yes, the deadbolt is automatically thrown as soon as the door is closed, providing immediate security. You can retract the bolt from the inside using the pull lever or from the outside with a key.
Yes, the internal handle can be deadlocked by giving the key an extra turn from the outside, which is ideal for when the property is empty. Additionally, the lock features a turn snib on the side of the case to hold the bolt in the retracted position if needed.
The Ingersoll SC71 is designed for doors with a thickness between 35mm and 57mm. It features a high-security 10 lever cylinder mechanism and is supplied with three keys.

The Ingersoll 10-lever key is a specialised component designed specifically for use with the SC71 and SC73 rim night latches. These locks are renowned for their high-security performance, utilising a complex lever mechanism that requires precision-cut keys for reliable operation.
This key is typically used as a replacement for lost or damaged keys, or when additional copies are required for new occupants. It functions as the primary interface for the night latch, engaging the internal levers to retract the deadbolt or latch bolt. Because these keys are specific to the SC71 and SC73 series, they provide a secure solution tailored to the original manufacturer's specifications.
When used with compatible Ingersoll hardware, this key ensures the continued smooth mechanical function of the locking system, preventing the wear and jamming often associated with non-specialist duplicates. It is suitable for any door currently fitted with these specific 10-lever rim lock models.

The Ingersoll SC1 Door Pull is a dedicated accessory designed for use in conjunction with Ingersoll SC71 and SC73 rim cylinders. It serves a practical purpose by providing a secure grip point on the exterior of the door, making it significantly easier to pull the door closed when using a night latch or rim lock.
This door pull is typically used in residential applications where the lock mechanism lacks an integrated handle on the cylinder rose. During installation, the pull is positioned behind the cylinder before it is secured to the door, creating a neat and functional finish. It is a standard component for many traditional front door setups, ensuring ease of use without compromising the security or function of the locking system.
