Key bypass without adding passage mode

The 1021 format adds a key-bypass facility to shared-code entry. That gives authorised keyholders another access route; it does not automatically create code-free passage. Compare 1041 when both functions are needed, and confirm the override-cylinder arrangement supplied with the selected lock.

Fitting and setup

  • Measure the door thickness, backset and existing fixing positions against the exact model drawing.
  • Set the new code and test the outside control, inside operation and latch engagement with the door open before closing it.

FAQs

No, the Kaba 1021B is a fully mechanical digital lock. It operates without batteries or external wiring, ensuring constant access without the need for electronic maintenance or power-related failures.

The lock is easily programmed through the 5-button keypad. Unlike some mechanical locks, you do not need to remove the unit from the door to change the single access code.

Yes. While it is factory-handed for left-hand doors, the design is field-reversible, allowing you to easily adjust it on-site to suit either door orientation during installation.

This specific model features a key override function. Two keys are supplied, allowing for manual entry via a key bypass if the combination is forgotten or if code-free entry is required.
