CHROME-PLATED AND VERSATILE

The 83/50 padlock with a lock body width of 50 millimetres combines high resistance to theft attempts with corrosion resistance and versatility.

  • Chrome-plated solid brass lock body
  • Hardened special steel shackle with NANO PROTECT™ coating for very high corrosion protection
  • Double bolted locking mechanism increases the security of the lock
  • 2 variants: with automatic locking by simply pressing down the shackle or with key retaining, i.e. locking only with a key (key retaining is set up by inserting the Z-bar)
  • Rekeyable: the cylinder can be exchanged and thus also adapted to existing bittings
  • Cylinder protection cap against moisture and dust optionally available
  • Shackle can be exchanged within seconds

Yes, the ABUS 83/50 features a rekeyable precision pin cylinder that can be adapted to existing bittings. It is also available with key profiles designed to match standard front or back door locks, allowing for convenient one-key security across your property.

This padlock is designed for high corrosion resistance, featuring a chrome-plated solid brass body and a hardened steel shackle with NANO PROTECT™ coating. For additional protection against moisture and dust, a cylinder protection cap is also optionally available.

The shackle is constructed from hardened special steel to resist cutting and sawing. Security is further enhanced by a double bolted locking mechanism, which provides significantly higher resistance against pulling and prying attempts.

The 83/50 offers two locking variants. It can be set for automatic locking, where you simply press the shackle down, or for key-retaining operation, where the key is required to lock it and cannot be removed until the lock is secured. This is easily configured using the included Z-bar.

Perfect for gates and fences to prevent the padlock from falling to the ground or being stolen.

Attaches using a D shackle to connect the chain to the gate or fence.

Chain Attachment Ring fits onto the non opening side of the shackle of the padlock and prevents the chain from being removed from the padlock. The link is too tight to pass over the U shape of the shackle.


This is only suitable for padlocks that can be unassembled so NOT suitable for Closed shackle padlock, Combination padlocks or standard pre-built padlocks.

Perfect for high security padlock ranges with an open shackle.

Supplied with 0.5 meter length of 8mm link galvanised chain, Longer chain lengths available upon request.

Galvansized D shackles available if required.
