If ordering 4 or more keyed alike locks you can have them set up as different groups. If Required: Let us know the details in the "Specific Key Requirements" field above.

A press at the door can start an in-app call, with two-way audio and echo and noise reduction for the conversation. Enable call notifications in the supported Ajax user app; the installer's PRO app does not receive doorbell calls.

The PIR sensor detects movement while built-in AI recognises people, pets and vehicles. Configure detection areas and event filters to focus on the approach to your door rather than every passing movement. The 4 MP HDR camera provides a broad view, with infrared illumination for night-time visits.

Doorbells

A backup route. For important events.

Wi-Fi carries DoorBell's video. Adding a compatible Ajax hub gives important events another way to reach you if that Wi-Fi connection is lost.

Hub: the link to your alarm. An Ajax hub is the control unit for compatible alarm devices. It also links DoorBell to the system's backup radio communications.

Jeweller: events and alarms. This radio link carries events and alarm notifications between DoorBell and the hub when Wi-Fi is unavailable.

Wings: a picture of what happened. This separate radio link can deliver photos through the hub, with an active Ajax Cloud Storage subscription.

These backup links do not carry live video. DoorBell still needs Wi-Fi for its video stream.

Ready for the entrance.

An IP54 enclosure protects against dust and splashing water. A tamper sensor reports if someone tries to remove DoorBell from its mounting panel.

Backup, built in.

The internal battery provides up to one hour of backup if the wired supply fails. Automatic heating helps it operate in cold conditions. This bridges an interruption; DoorBell still needs its normal wired power supply.

Your video. Your permissions.

Control who can view, listen, save or manage video. Passwordless camera authentication, two-factor account authentication and session controls protect access. Supported exports have a digital signature that Ajax Media Player can check for changes.

Recording options. Match the way you use them.

DoorBell works without an NVR for live views and calls. Adding one creates a local video archive and makes room for other cameras as your system grows. Ajax Cloud Storage is an alternative subscription for recordings.

These recorders are alternatives, not equipment needed together. Compare screen connections, storage and camera capacity below. Hard drives are supplied separately.

Even with a PoE recorder, DoorBell uses Wi-Fi and its own wired power supply; it does not connect to a PoE camera port.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

Before installation

  • A suitable wired 12-24 V DC or 16-24 V AC supply and a reliable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection at the entrance. Have the installer check the supply rating, cable run and any existing doorbell transformer or chime against the manual.
  • For a supported wired chime, use the included BellKit and the specified wiring arrangement. Alternatively, compatible Ajax sirens can announce a visitor.
  • For recordings, use an Ajax NVR on the same network with a suitable drive, or an Ajax Cloud Storage subscription. An alarm hub is not required for basic doorbell calls.

Fitting and setup

Use a qualified installer for the wiring and isolate the supply before work. Mount the SmartBracket on a sound vertical surface, normally 1.2-1.5 m above the ground; the supplied angle brackets help frame the approach. Add DoorBell to the Ajax app, enable the relevant call notifications and test the view, chime and detection areas before finishing.

DoorBell is not PoE or battery-only. Its internal battery is a short-term backup, not an alternative to the normal wired supply.

FAQs

Video connects over Wi-Fi, but the doorbell still needs a suitable wired power supply. It is not a battery-powered installation.

Ajax specifies 12-24 V DC or 16-24 V AC. Check the transformer, wiring and chime arrangement against the current installation manual before fitting.

An Ajax NVR can store the video on a compatible hard drive. A separate supported cloud subscription is another option where available; a hub is not a recorder.

Ajax lists ONVIF Profile S conformance and RTSP support for this product. Third-party viewing does not necessarily include Ajax calls, AI filters, alarm scenarios or cloud features. Check the exact software and recording arrangement.

With a compatible hub, Jeweller carries events and alarms if Wi-Fi is lost. Wings photo delivery also requires an active Ajax Cloud Storage subscription. Live video still needs a working network connection; the radio fallback does not stream continuous video.
