Ajax NVR brings multiple camera streams into a compact recorder. View and search footage through the Ajax apps while the archive stays on a compatible local hard drive.

The archive, neatly contained.

A single compatible SATA hard drive, up to 16 TB, stores the footage locally. Eight- and sixteen-channel versions suit different camera counts, without changing the way you use the Ajax apps.

The original NVR uses a compact, fanless enclosure with one SATA drive bay. Its eight- and sixteen-channel models suit shared recording for several cameras without putting a computer beside them. Viewing and configuration take place in Ajax apps; this model has no HDMI monitor output.

Authorised users control access to live video and recordings. Ajax supports two-factor authentication, session management and separate permissions for video access. The recorder monitors the hard drive and reports problems through the app, helping you check that the system is still recording as intended.

Bring supported cameras together.

ONVIF Profile G and S and RTSP provide connections to compatible third-party cameras alongside Ajax video devices. Pixel-based motion detection can define recording areas, while available AI filters depend on the connected camera. An ONVIF connection does not automatically provide all of a camera manufacturer's proprietary features.

Separate the three jobs. Network, power and recording.

NVR Network Video Recorder uses 110-240 V AC. It records network camera streams but has no PoE camera-power ports. Connect cameras through suitable network equipment and power them separately. The hard drive is supplied separately; a hub is only needed for the associated alarm functions, not basic video recording.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

Before installation

A suitable mains supply for the recorder and an Ethernet connection to your router or network switch.
A compatible recording drive, supplied separately. Fit and secure it inside the recorder with the power disconnected.
Separate power for the cameras: for PoE cameras, plan Cat6 runs to a suitable PoE switch or injector. This recorder has no camera PoE outputs.

Fitting and setup

Place the recorder securely with ventilation space, connect it to the same network as the cameras, then add it to the Ajax app. Add the cameras, configure storage and recording schedules, and test playback and user permissions before handover.

This model is managed through Ajax apps; it has no HDMI monitor output.

Powering the cameras, not the recorder

For wired PoE cameras, the Uniview switches provide 4, 8 or 16 powered ports; the 16-port Reyee is another managed option. Connect the switch's network uplink to the same network as the recorder. Match powered-port count and the shared PoE budget to the cameras, allowing for their maximum demand rather than treating channel capacity as a power rating.

These switches power compatible Ethernet cameras, not the recorder itself, IndoorCam or DoorBell. The recorder still needs its own specified supply. Keep networking equipment indoors with ventilation space.

Do not assume one is included. Check the individual listing and ordered configuration. A compatible drive is needed for local archive recording unless the recorder is supplied with one fitted.

No. HDMI is available on supported H-series models; the original NVR family is managed through Ajax apps. Confirm the output and supported display resolution for the exact recorder.

No. The recorder must itself have suitable PoE ports. Otherwise, a compatible PoE switch or injector is required. A camera's PoE capability and a recorder's PoE capability are separate specifications.

Compatibility depends on the camera, recorder and supported protocols. Ajax supports ONVIF and RTSP integration on applicable devices, but protocol support does not guarantee every camera feature or event is available.

This family includes eight- and sixteen-channel models. Channel capacity is the number of camera streams the recorder supports; allow room for any planned expansion.

No. This recorder has no PoE output ports. Use an appropriate PoE switch or injector for PoE cameras, or their supported separate power supply.

BulletCam makes the direction of your surveillance clear. Its adjustable mount helps frame a driveway, side passage or entrance, with the live view and recordings available in the Ajax app.

Light and shade. In the same picture.

True WDR balances bright and dark parts of a scene. At a sunlit entrance it helps keep a person visible rather than losing their face in shadow. Smart IR adjusts infrared illumination at night to reduce overexposure when someone approaches.

The range includes 5 MP and 8 MP cameras with a fixed 2.8 mm or 4 mm lens. Resolution determines recorded detail; the lens changes the width of the view. These are different model choices, not an adjustable optical zoom.
