Fitting Guide
Tools: a tape measure, the correct hand screwdriver, a door wedge and a soft cloth.
Before you start
Lay out the two components first: the 93 mm pull goes inside; the 70 mm standard escutcheon goes outside. The drawing marks 38 mm fixing centres on the internal component. Compare the cylinder profile, existing holes and clearance on both faces. Check the cylinder length and projection with the new furniture in place.
Fit and check
- Keep the door open and the key to hand. Photograph the existing fittings and support both sides while releasing their fixings.
- Offer up the inside pull and outside escutcheon without fastening them. Check that the key can enter and turn freely and that the pull clears nearby hardware.
- Use the mounting parts and fixing sequence supplied with the set. Align both sides, start screws by hand and tighten evenly without distorting the door skin or pinching the cylinder.
- Check the pull is secure, then test the key and lock with the door open before checking normal operation with it closed.
Where the existing preparation differs, establish the correct mounting method before drilling. Removing or changing the cylinder is a separate operation and must retain the correct external projection.
