Fitting Guide
Tools: a tape measure, the correct hand screwdriver, a door wedge and a soft cloth.
Before you start
This Universal plate is 248 × 32 mm with a 13 mm body depth. Its drawing shows three separate fixing ranges: 112–136.5 mm, 135–158.5 mm and 188–212.5 mm. Match the actual fixing positions to one supported arrangement; do not assume every centre distance between the smallest and largest values is covered.
A blanking plate covers unused handle preparation; it does not operate or lock the door. Confirm the remaining handle, lock or other operating hardware will still let you open and secure the door before removing anything.
Fit and check
- Keep the door open and photograph the existing arrangement. Support the outside furniture while releasing any connected fixing screws.
- Dry-fit the plate over the unused preparation. Check full coverage, fixing alignment and clearance from the cylinder, lock and door frame.
- Use the supplied fixing arrangement and the matching drawing. For the Universal model, set the fixing positions to the supported arrangement before tightening. Start screws by hand and tighten evenly without distorting the door skin.
- Check the plate is secure and flush. Test all remaining opening and locking controls with the door open before closing the door.
