This mains-powered FireProtect 2 detects heat and sounds an alarm locally. Heat detection is useful where smoke from normal activity makes a smoke detector unsuitable, subject to the installation design.

A compatible hub is optional for app and system functions. Correct positioning and maintenance remain essential.

Heat detection. Mains power with backup.

Mains power, with a backup plan.

The AC version requires a 110-240 V AC connection, fitted by a qualified electrician. Its built-in backup battery maintains operation if mains power fails. The backup is non-replaceable: replace the detector when it is depleted.

Jeweller provides wireless communication with the alarm system; it does not remove the need for an electrical supply cable.

Battery or mains power? Plan around the installation.

These models both detect heat, not smoke. Battery-powered RB/SB models avoid a mains connection; the AC model needs an electrician and a suitable mains circuit. The installation design determines which is appropriate.

Heat detection where smoke is not the right signal.

Two thermistors monitor for an excessive temperature and a rapid rise in heat. A heat-only detector can be appropriate where normal cooking fumes make smoke detection unsuitable, subject to the installation design. It does not detect smoke or carbon monoxide and must not replace the smoke alarms required elsewhere.

One detector sounds. The system can sound with it.

With compatible devices and interconnection correctly configured, an alarm can activate other fire sounders. Hub-mediated and supported detector-to-detector fallback behaviour depend on the exact devices and firmware. Agree and test the complete response; do not assume separate, unpaired alarms already communicate.

Optional connected protection. Add the roles you need.

The detector can warn locally without a hub. Hub 2 Plus adds supported app and system functions. ManualCallPoint Red is a separate, hub-dependent way to raise an alarm manually; it does not detect smoke, heat or carbon monoxide.

Ajax ManualCallPoint (Red) Jeweller

ManualCallPoint Red allows a person to trigger a configured fire alarm manually. Its resettable element avoids replacing break-glass material after a test or activation.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

A qualified electrician must provide the specified 110-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz connection. The built-in, non-replaceable battery is backup, not the normal power source; replace the detector when it is depleted. Follow the exact manual for positioning, testing and maintenance. Commission any hub connection and interconnection, and have the installation design checked for the property.
