This battery-powered FireProtect 2 detects heat and sounds an alarm locally. Heat detection is useful where smoke from normal activity makes a smoke detector unsuitable, subject to the installation design.

A compatible hub is optional for app and system functions. Correct positioning and maintenance remain essential.

The detector has its own sounder and can detect its specified hazards without being paired to an Ajax hub. Adding a compatible hub provides app notifications and supported system functions. Standalone operation does not automatically make separate detectors an interconnected system.

Let the other alarms know. Interconnection needs commissioning.

With primary interconnection enabled, a detector sends an alarm to the hub, which starts the other configured fire sounders. Compatible FireProtect 2 units can also support a fallback radio alarm between detectors if the hub link is lost. Fallback requires firmware 5.59.2.xx or later, the marked supporting hardware and proper setup. Do not assume separate unpaired detectors automatically interconnect.

Battery or mains power? Plan around the installation.

These models both detect heat, not smoke. Battery-powered RB/SB models avoid a mains connection; the AC model needs an electrician and a suitable mains circuit. The installation design determines which is appropriate.

Heat detection where smoke is not the right signal.

Two thermistors monitor for an excessive temperature and a rapid rise in heat. A heat-only detector can be appropriate where normal cooking fumes make smoke detection unsuitable, subject to the installation design. It does not detect smoke or carbon monoxide and must not replace the smoke alarms required elsewhere.

The detector can warn locally without a hub. Hub 2 Plus adds supported app and system functions. ManualCallPoint Red is a separate, hub-dependent way to raise an alarm manually; it does not detect smoke, heat or carbon monoxide.

Ajax ManualCallPoint (Red) Jeweller

ManualCallPoint Red allows a person to trigger a configured fire alarm manually. Its resettable element avoids replacing break-glass material after a test or activation.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

No mains cable is required. RB models use two replaceable CR123A batteries; SB models have sealed batteries and the complete detector must be replaced when they are depleted. Follow the selected model's positioning, testing and replacement instructions. For a hub-connected installation, check Battery Life Optimization and commission the radio link and interconnection. Check the detector type, siting and coverage against the product instructions and the requirements for your property. Seek specialist advice if you are unsure.
