TurretCam HL adds white illumination to infrared night vision. Hybrid lighting gives the system another way to capture useful detail when the light falls, without a bulky camera body.

Hybrid lighting combines infrared viewing with white light. With the appropriate detection settings, white illumination brings colour into a night-time scene, helping reveal details that a monochrome image cannot. Smart IR adjusts infrared intensity for nearby subjects.

The range includes 5 MP and 8 MP cameras with a fixed 2.8 mm or 4 mm lens. Resolution determines recorded detail; the lens changes the width of the view. These are different model choices, not an adjustable optical zoom.

Private areas stay private.

Privacy masks hide sensitive parts of the image, such as a neighbouring window. Detection zones have a different job: they decide where movement should trigger attention. Separate permissions control who can view live video, recordings and settings, with two-factor authentication and session controls protecting account access.

Built for everyday service.

A metal enclosure protects the camera, while its built-in accelerometer reports impacts and attempts to dismantle it. The microphone adds sound to recordings where enabled. Recording can use a compatible microSD card up to 256 GB, or a separate Ajax NVR and hard drive. Check the selected model for its environmental and impact ratings.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

Before installation

Plan a Cat6 Ethernet cable run to the back of each camera. For PoE, connect the other end to a compatible PoE NVR camera port or a PoE switch connected to your network. A suitable PoE injector is another option.
Without PoE, the camera needs its specified 12 V DC supply as well as the Ethernet connection. Standard Ajax NVR and NVR H recorders do not supply camera PoE power.
For recordings, add a compatible microSD card or a network recorder with a suitable drive. Recording storage, network cabling and power equipment are separate requirements.

Fitting and setup

Have the installer check the view and cable route before fixing the camera. Use suitable fixings, protect external connections with the specified waterproof connector and seal cable entries. Add the camera to the Ajax app, adjust its view, configure recording and detection areas, and test day and night coverage.

An Ajax alarm hub is optional for linked alarm features; it does not replace the camera power supply or video recorder.

Power and network equipment

For one camera on an existing non-PoE network, the Grandstream injector provides active PoE+ power: connect the network to its LAN input and the camera to its PoE output. For several cameras, a suitable Uniview or Reyee PoE switch provides powered camera ports and a separate network uplink.

Use one suitable power route, not an injector and a PoE switch for the same camera. Match the camera's PoE requirement and maximum power demand, both per port and against the switch's shared budget. Keep the switch or injector indoors; outdoor cameras still need protected connections and suitable cable routing.

A fixed lens has a set viewing angle. A motorised varifocal lens allows the focal length to be adjusted within its specified range, helping frame the area being monitored. The available lens range depends on the model.

No. Infrared illumination normally provides monochrome night-time images. Hybrid-light models also offer white-light illumination for colour capture under suitable conditions. Check the exact model's lighting modes and range.

Storage and camera power must be planned separately. Supported Ajax cameras can use compatible local storage or an NVR; the camera specifications identify the supported storage options and power supply.

The fixed 2.8 mm lens frames a wider area; 4 mm concentrates on a narrower one. Both are available with 5 MP or 8 MP resolution. The lens is not an adjustable zoom.

Video uses the wired network and can be managed in Ajax apps without an alarm hub. A compatible hub is needed for the associated alarm devices and alarm-triggered video scenarios.

Plan suitable PoE or separate DC power and recording storage. A microSD card can store footage in the camera, or an Ajax NVR can record to a compatible hard drive. An alarm hub does not power the camera or store its video archive.

Ajax lists ONVIF Profile G and S conformance and RTSP support for this camera range. These provide routes for compatible third-party video equipment, but do not guarantee every Ajax app, AI or alarm-scenario feature in another system. Check the exact integration before ordering.
