Opening, impact and tilt are different events.
A magnetic contact reports opening. The accelerometer adds shock and tilt detection, so a forced impact or a change in a window's position can be reported as well. Each sensor can be configured separately. That additional sensing, rather than a different finish, is the reason to choose Plus U over DoorProtect U.
You can configure tilt detection for the window's intended position, with the opening sensor disabled when necessary for ventilation. Sensitivity and delay must suit that window. This does not make an open window physically secure or provide the same detection as an acoustic glass-break sensor.
