DoorProtect U monitors the opening of a door or window and reports it to your Ajax alarm. A choice of two supplied magnets helps suit the frame, with the magnet positioned on either side of the detector.

More freedom around the frame.

Two reed switches allow the magnet to sit on the left or right. Use one magnet on one side only. The small magnet operates up to 1 cm away, and the larger magnet up to 2 cm; check the gap throughout the opening movement.

Bring another contact into the system.

The normally closed input can connect a suitable third-party wired detector. This is an optional local wired connection, not a requirement to run alarm cable back to the hub. Confirm the external detector and wiring against the manual.

A discreet, wire-free installation.

A pre-installed CR123A battery provides up to seven years of operation. Jeweller carries alarms and status information wirelessly, while the hub reports a low battery or lost connection.

Opening detection or something more? Two approaches to the same entrance.

DoorProtect U covers opening. DoorProtect Plus U adds shock and tilt detection where the door or window needs that extra information. Neither is an acoustic glass-break detector.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

You need a compatible Ajax hub and a sound indoor mounting surface on the door/window frame and moving part. The supplied battery powers the detector, so no mains, Ethernet or cable to the hub is needed. Fit one magnet beside the detector, within the specified working gap, without obstructing the opening. Check signal strength and the opening/closing test before permanent fixing. Only the optional external NC detector needs local cabling. Do not treat this opening contact as a shock, tilt, glass-break or fire detector.

Yes, on DoorProtect U it can go on the left or right. Use only one magnet on one side at a time.

It detects opening through the magnetic contact. It is not a glass-break, shock or tilt detector.

A configured Chime function can notify through a compatible Ajax siren while the system is disarmed. The contact itself does not contain that siren.

The listed 103 x 22 x 21 mm dimensions are for the U detector body. The large magnet is the same size; the small magnet is 55 x 11 x 6 mm.

No. DoorProtect U is an alarm-system component and needs a compatible Ajax hub.

Tamper detection reports removal from the mounting panel. Device authentication and regular communication checks help identify interference or a missing detector.

Entry and exit delays can suit the way you use each door. A compatible Ajax siren can also chime when the door opens while the system is disarmed.

Use the supplied SmartBracket, holding screw and one appropriate magnet. Secure fixings and a tested detection zone matter more than simply placing the two parts close together.

Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two mobile SIM slots give the hub alternative routes to Ajax Cloud. Configure more than one route for resilience. Mobile connectivity needs compatible SIMs, coverage and an active service; switching between SIMs can take up to four minutes.

A compatible MotionCam detector can send a sequence of photographs with an alarm, helping you understand what happened before deciding how to respond. Photo-on-demand and scenario features depend on the detector and permissions. Continuous camera recordings need their own storage, not the hub.

What you need. Fitting and setup.

Provide a suitable mains socket and an internet connection through Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Run an Ethernet cable to the router if using the wired route; detector cabling is not required for compatible Jeweller devices. Fit and configure any SIMs, mount the hub on SmartBracket, then add and test each detector and siren. Check radio coverage before fixing devices permanently. A qualified alarm installer should design the coverage, set delays and test the complete system. Monitoring and mobile subscriptions are separate services.
